Roll Your Sleeves Up – Higher

Roll Your Sleeves up HIGHER

"Let's Roll"

Are You Guys Ready? Let’s Roll

If you are waiting for the economy to improve for your company to do better stop waiting now.

The phrase “Let’s Roll” was made famous when it was spoken by Todd Beamer, passenger on flight 93 over an in-flight phone before the fatal crash in a Pennsylvania field on September 11, 2001. “Let’s Roll” can also serve as the battle cry of your company to overcome the market forces, excusitis, or whatever resistance you’re dealing with to make 2011 the best year it possibly can be.We can choose to either close up shop now, or roll our sleeves up higher and get to work on making things better for ourselves. Rolling up our sleeves is a beginning, then comes the effort. Making a great year is going to take more than harder work, it is going to take smarter work.

We have to think better to do better.

We have to know better to think better.

Are you guys ready?

In what ways will your company improve the knowledge of its associates, suppliers, and customers to do better in 2011?

Make  a list. Post it in the comments here.

  1. Sid,
We often limit ourselves and cannot look beyond a limited circle. We limit ourselves by our thoughts and beliefs. The more open-minded we can be, and the bigger we dare to think, the greater are our opportunities and possibilities. Limitations are within our minds, and it is up to us to rise above them. On the top of my list is to sit down with all of my customers, vendors and family and develop “Reach for the Stars” kind of goals that we can pursue together and collaborate on unique action plans to achieve those goals.

  2. Thanks for commenting Joe. That’s a great plan.

  3. I once believed that as an independent, I was nothing more than a pimple on an elephants a_____. I never believed that the ecenomic condition of the country or the world could effect me. I would always be able to find the answer to stem the influence of outside economics. Over the past few years my thinking has changed. Any new idea needs to be considered carefully and tread lightly at first. Even the best idea does not create the response of 10 years ago.

  4. Well said Peter. Thanks for leaving the comment. I call this “going to school” on the subject. If we give any subject about two weeks of concentrated effort it is amazing what you can accomplish in terms of learning while still doing pretty everything else we would have been doing anyway. I call this Accelerated Learning, or you might think of it as “doing the homework in advance”.
