Men are still a big part of the garden market.
If women make over 70% of garden related purchases what percent do you think carry the interest in food?
It might surprise you to know that nearly 80% of men with incomes over $150,000 are passionate about food. That’s nearly twice as many as are passionate about sports. These “foodies” list “dining out at great restaurants at least once a week” and “traveling the globe to explore restaurants” among their favorite activities. Believe it or not, only 37% of married men and 17% of single men in this income group are passionate sports fans.
While it is significant that women make and influence an over-whelming majority of garden purchases, we must remember that we would have a hard time living without men customers today, and the ones they’re teaching to be our customers tomorrow.
